About Us

Our Mission: UMUHUZA is a revolutionary web and mobile application that bridges the gap in Rwanda's food chain. We empower farmers with vital information, connect them to essential players like agro-dealers and processors, and create a more efficient and transparent market system.

Why we exist: Rwanda's agricultural sector is fragmented, leading to information asymmetry and unreliable access to markets. Farmers struggle to get fair prices, while consumers and businesses face challenges finding consistent, high-quality produce.

The good news: UMUHUZA's user-friendly web and mobile app provides farmers with:

Team Member 2

Olivier Niyonkuru

Software Engineer

4th year student at the University of Rwanda (Computer and Software Engineering), He is a Software Engineer with 3 years of experience in software development. He is currently studying Computer and Software Engineering at the University of Rwanda. He previously worked as a Junior Software Developer at MININFRA on the Kwubaka project, a government platform for construction permits and land services. He also holds a Software Engineering certificate awarded by Power Learn Project (PLP-Kenya).

Ashulah Ishimwe

Data analyst

4th year student at the University of Rwanda (Information system.), She is a Data Analyst with 2 years of experience and a certified Data Analyst from KLab Rwanda, brings strong analytical expertise. Together, we focus on impactful agriculture solutions aligned with Rwanda’s development goals
